Be Wild Child

One of our favourite thing to do here is go to Bewilderwood.  Its the superb brainchild of Tom Blofield who inherited a large woody marshland. In 2007 he opened this fantasy adventure park that has Boggles and Twiggles, slippery slopes, zip wires and tree climbing adventures.  We've been going there every summer since Tanzin was 3 years old.

Today was wonderful to finally share it with Grace, Emily and little bro, Aiden.

Top of the Lake

Ooh aah, has anyone been following this detective drama tv series?
Its produced by the very talented Jane Champion and with it she brings in Holly Hunter as a very cool hippie guru as well as a stella cast.  It's shot in New Zealand, so the scenery is just stunning. top of the lakehttp://www.topofthelake.co.uk/

Now I have my Saturday AND Sunday nights sorted!  (White Queen on Sunday)
See it's just all rock and roll in Scole!!

Now, speaking of Lakes, we've just had the best week away to the Lakes District with another family from school.  Jo, Steve, Abey and Megan.  The girls are in Taylor and Tanzin's class respectively, so as you can imagine there was alot of laughter and long nights with their friends.

We absolutely loved the Lakes.  Every day was new and exciting.  The kids were brilliant and took on each daily challenge of biking/hiking/climbing/swimming/tree climbing with great attitudes.   I can't wait to go back there one day.  So so much to explore!!

School's out for Summer

You can tell that the kids are at home and summer is well and truly with us.

The girls finished school on the Friday 12th July and will return early September.
That afternoon, Tanzin's BBBBBBF, Zoe, sister Olive and Flis & Les arrived from New Zealand.

We loved showing them our home and like true friends, it was like we had just saw each other and time had never past.

July already!

This week has been relatively quiet whilst JP is away in Oz on the Lions Tour.
Though saying that, we did have a huge weekend with my 2nd cousin, Lisa, Greg and her gorgeous boys from Toronto.  I used to live with them when I was a cheeky young backpacker.
She has 3 boys and so my girls adored them.
I think the highlight was cruising down the Norfolk broads on a very lazy & warm Sunday to a pub for lunch.  They enjoyed the English culinary delights of ploughmans lunch, baked spud, pims and beer shandys.

School sports day was on both Monday and Thurs.  Our very competitive girls ran like the wind and all won their races and/or came 2nd.  I remember that nervous feeling you get just before a race. The girls were all so excited and nervous!

It took my breath away

At last, the sunflowers are taller than her!!

Every week we were measuring Jaimie
THIS MORNING!!   Sooooo close!!!

I feel the love!

NHS School Events

Norwich Girls High has held numerous events lately as we approach the year end.  We break up on the 12th July.

Tanzin studied the Tudors and their year took a field trip to Kentwell Hall, where they all had to dress and act like poor tudors in 1559.  http://www.kentwell.co.uk/events/tudor

Tanzin devoured reading the Horrid History books by Terry Deary.  Pure genius he is.  I even enjoy reading and learning from them as well!  http://www.terry-deary.com/

Tanzin and Poppy, who we do a lift share to school with.
Earlier this week was Tanzin's year 4 production of "Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat"
The show was very impressive indeed and held in the school hall.  Unfortunately due to copyright, we weren't allowed to take any vid or photos.  Tanzin played one of Joseph's brothers and was absolutely marvellous (but you knew I was going to say that!!)

Surprisingly, she wasn't too keen on the beard!!  The orange scarf was wrapped around her head.
Next up on the weekly calendar was the Norfolk Show.  The school had a day off on Wednesday so together with G&G, we spent the day there and what a huge, fun day it was.  The girls spent most of the day collecting goody bags from all the stalls!

My animals

I just adore Taylor's sparkling 'Dorothy' shoes - she wore them the whole 8 hours and never complained!!!

'Ello Bobby!

Hounds and Horses

Segway, very cool!
And finally, today (Friday)  Jaimie and Taylor's classes held their field trip at Sea Palling beach.
The tide was high, and cold, the weather was very iffy, but to it's credit, the rain held off
The kids had the time of their lives playing together, paddling in the sea, burying themselves, building sandcastles and rolling down the dunes.

Hey Honey!

We met with a bee keeper the other night and offered a section of our field to him as it's just sitting there and it would be perfect timing for them as the bees have seriously struggled over the past couple of years given the poor weather conditions.

The bee keeper is very excited and so come winter, he'll set up a few hives and we'll be rolling in the honey!!!!

Would butter melt in her mouth?!

I don't mind cartwheels over me as long as they don't take my bone!
